New Year's Eve at Red's Lounge

New Year's Eve we had the choice to head to Ground Zero, which was packed, or Red's, which was well.. just as the photo above shows it. Ground Zero, the newer juke partly owned by Morgan Freeman had hired all the bands in the area for their massive New Years Eve bash and left very little for other venues. Which went for patrons as well. Big George Brock was down the road at Sarah's Kitchen and Red's was empty except for Red himself, Robert Whitfield (pictured), my husband Djerek and myself.

In the end it was the best night I coud have asked for, we sat in Red's for hours talking and listening to stories about Robert and Red's childhood in Mississippi... how his punishment for acting up was his mother would send him to Jackson for the summer to pick cotton... and how much he hated that...

I also used a great new film that night that was extra grainy and really loved the results... really seemed to convey the night well.
